On February 10 2026, the United Nations Global Compact Network Egypt (UNGCNE) celebrated the Closing Ceremony of the First Batch of Bloom with Purpose at Edge Innovation Center, Sheikh Zayed, Cairo. This celebration marked the graduation of 50 exceptional women leaders from UNGCNE’s flagship program, which is designed to bridge the gender leadership gap in the Egyptian private sector. Rooted in the principles of inclusive leadership and sustainable development, the program reflects the Network’s broader mission to foster a more equitable and inclusive business environment in Egypt, aligning with the Ten Principles of the United Nations Global Compact, Sustainable Development Goal 5 on Gender Equality, Egypt’s Vision 2030, and the National Strategy for the Empowerment of Egyptian Women.

Delivered as a fully-funded scholarship program, Bloom with Purpose has been delivered in partnership with the International Academy For Advanced Research and Studies - London and certified by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI). The program has been designed to equip women in middle management with strategic leadership capabilities, emotional intelligence, and decision-making skills essential for senior executive roles.

The ceremony commenced with opening remarks by Ms. Walaa El-Husseiny, UNGCNE Country Director, followed by Mr. Karim Elsafty, Secretary General of the Board of Directors at UNGCNE and Regional Director (Middle East) at the International Academy for Advanced Research and Studies – London, setting an inspiring tone that reflected the collective commitment to empowering women leaders and celebrating their achievements.

A special highlight of the event was the address delivered by Mr. Hakeem Haider, Engagement Manager at CMI, who emphasized the global value of the CMI certification and acknowledged Bloom with Purpose as the first program of its kind in the Middle East, underscoring its pioneering significance. A motivational speech was also delivered by Mrs. Nehal Break, Member of the Board of Directors at UNGCNE and Chairman & Managing Director of Contact Insurance Brokerage, whose words encouraged the graduates to move forward boldly, embrace their leadership journeys, and continue investing in their personal and professional growth.
